Biography

AWUNGNJIA TETCHOUNKWI is a Cameroonian lawyer. She was born in Cameroon in the then Victoria (now Limbe). She holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Buea, a Maitrise en Droit in Business Law (Post graduate Diploma) from the University of Yaounde II Soa – Cameroon and an LLM (Hons) in International Law from the University of Buea.

Education & other engagements

She was called to the Cameroon Bar in 2008 as Pupil Advocate and 2011 as a Full Fledge Advocate. She is an Advocate, Solicitor and Notary Public of the Supreme Court of Cameroon, member of the Cameroon Bar Association, a member of the African Bar Association, member of FIDA Cameroon.
She serves as a member of the Gender Desk for the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa (CHRDA). She also served Legal Adviser for Catholic University Institute for the Diocese of Buea (CUIB), Legal Adviser for NJILAP Construction Company Buea.

Results

She is presently the Country Representative of African Women Lawyers’ Association Cameroon.
She has written articles on “Bailiffs” in Anglophone Cameroon and “The Protection of Women in Arm Conflicts in Africa with the Crisis in North West and South West Regions of Cameroon as case study.
